The Creating a Hunger Free North Dakota Coalition (CHFND) was founded in 2009 with the vision of “a hunger free North Dakota.” Membership is open to any organization, business, agency, non-profit, faith-based organization, government entity or individual that supports the vision and purpose of the Coalition. Although the state of North Dakota currently is experiencing good economic times, not everyone is sharing in the prosperity. In 2010, one in 11 North Dakotans, 40 percent of whom are children, sought access to the charitable feeding network supplied by the Great Plains Food Bank. Hunger advocates and charitable feeding providers in North Dakota have come together to plan how to fill gaps and address challenges in connecting hungry people with food. (read more)
